Using Formants to Extract Short Vowels from Arabic Words with (Consonant Vowel)<sup>3</sup> Structure

Arabic texts suffer from missing short vowels. Speech Recognition is not as good English speech recognition due to the vowels being recognized. And language unlike in characteristics such number of has more than 24 that are close each other pronunciation. The only three far utter and measurement, by elongating those vowels, long arose. Researchers said could be recognized using formants. formants’ measurements too, so it possible recognize them can give accurate results. paper applies this idea corpus Phonemes Arabic. It uses Euclidian distance method measure distances between formant values words with a CV3 structure, Linear Predictive Coding MATLAB develop programs will extract formants calculate means identify within corpus. results showed if highly qualified readers were chosen read text, then higher rates involved achieved. This revealed some utilized for vowel or enhance existing methods recognition.
